  • Scope of application:

    CHg-6000 coal mercury analyzer conforms to the national standard "GB/T16659-2008 coal mercury determination cold atomic absorption spectrophotometry". It is mainly used for the determination of mercury in coal. Samples need to be extracted, digested and absorbed into aqueous solution for determination.

    Principle of measurement:

    Based on the fact that elemental mercury volatilizes into mercury vapor at room temperature without heating, and has strong absorption effect on ultraviolet radiation at 253.7 nm, the concentration of mercury is proportional to its absorption value in a certain range, which conforms to Bill's law. Applying cold atomic absorption principle and Lambert-Beer law, oxidized water sample is added into the foaming bottle, the core is inserted, and stannous chloride is added at the upper entrance of the core to reduce the mercury ion in the water sample to elemental mercury. The carrier gas (such as air) used in the pumping pump brings mercury vapor escaped from the reaction between stannous chloride and water sample in the foaming bottle into the colorimetric tank. The receiver receives the light signal and determines the concentration of mercury vapor according to the change of light intensity.
